Introduction

DAV Public School, Hehal, a leading school of Ranchi Zone, started functioning in 1987 with 250 students. The school functions under the guidance and supervision of DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi. Today the strength is above 6500 with classes from Pre-Nursery to Std XII (Arts, Commerce and Science streams). It has three grand and beautiful buildings comprising Class-rooms, Administrative block, Yajshala, Well equipped library, Computer Rooms and Science laboratories. The latest edition to the infrastructure was the G.L. Dutta Science Block inaugurated by H.E. Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam, ex President of India. It is a proof of its commitment to provide quality education to the students that today the school is thriving into three wings. One primary wing at west-end park, near Kaju Bagan and two units at Itki Road i.e. one middle and one senior wing. It has a galaxy of dedicated and qualified teachers who work for the development of multi-faceted personality of students.

An English medium co-educational school (10+2) affiliated to CBSE, DAV Hehal is infrastructurally rich, with 3 palatial buildings spread over about 11 acres of land, has maximum students and staff strength and sends scores of its students to professional colleges such as Engineering, Medical, IIT, Law, Business Management, etc. The medium of instruction is English but equal emphasis is laid on the study and proficiency in Hindi & Sanskrit. The school has a fleet of 36 well maintained buses that ensure the safe travel of the children from far flung area of the city. The school is well equipped with advanced modern Audio visuals equipments like LCD projector system. It has been champion in the youth festival for the sixth time in a row. It also bagged the first position among the CBSE East Zone cluster school in Badminton. In sports and other co-curricular activities its performance is commendable. Its achievements are due to the efforts put in by a team of dedicated and committed staff.

Motto & Ambition

The motto of the school is “Service Before Self”. As is self evident from our motto, we believe in attending to the needs of society first. We call upon our students also to give priority to serving the interest of other people first. Along with service to society we are also making an effort to train and familiarize our students with the latest technology. Computer education is an integral part of curriculum. We help the students to develop intellectual clarity and power to think independently.

Our Ambition

Our ambition is to dedicate ourselves to the development of the mighty country through education. We have already sent our 400+ students as professionals to serve in various fields such as Medical, Engineering, Army, Air-Force, Navy, Banking, Computer Technology, Law, Chartered Accountancy, Fashion Designing, etc. We are confident that these students will not only serve their concerned departments sincerely but also be morally upright and honest.

Activity Oriented Learning

We try to make children inquisitive in nature through healthy questionnaire session, which is further substituted with practical demonstration session. General Knowledge and quiz are also an essential part of our approach. General Knowledge and Quiz competitions are organized regularly.
